Emeka & Amanda’s January wedding at 501 Union in Brooklyn was special for many reasons. I’ll try to keep this as short and sweet as possible.
I’ve known Amanda for four years. We met at church and over that time we developed a close sisterly relationship. I was honored to be asked to be one of her bridesmaids for her wedding and of course I could not say no. I also knew I also knew I absolutely had to do double duty as her bridesmaid and photographer. Amanda had been my photography subject many times before so it only seemed fitting that I document the biggest day of her life and man am I glad I did!
Emeka & Amanda had such an incredible wedding with so many personal touches. First was the beautiful cross adorned with florals by the amazing Rosewood Floral Co which symbolized their deep Christian faith. Their ceremony was filled with performances one of which represented Amanda’s walk with God which ultimately led her to her marriage with Emeka.
At the end of the ceremony they shared their very first kiss ever! And finally their first dance was a choreographed contemporary piece. (Amanda is in fact a trained dancer so this made a lot of sense!) There were so many sweet moments I could go on forever but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!
